The 28th Annual Ocean City Christmas Parade marches along Coastal Highway on Saturday, December 4th at 11 am. The holiday parade starts at 100th Street and marches northbound in the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway to the Gold Coast Mall at 115th Street. More than 80 walking units make this parade a must see!

The parade is to run from 11 am until 3 pm, tentatively. This parade is a great for children and adults alike. Along with traditional floats, the Ocean City Christmas parade also features marching units, horses, llamas, antique cars, musicians and bands, and clowns. Be sure that you don’t miss Mrs. Claus and Santa as they wrap up the parade at the mall.

Professional judges will be present to review and award bands and marching units. There are 9 categories for participants to be awarded in. Trophies will be given out inside the Gold Coast Mall following the parade. Awards for first, second, and third places in each designated category will be distributed. The Gold Coast Mall Merchants Association sponsors the parade.

Seating will be located in the parking lot of the Gold Coast Mall. Bring your own chair if you’d like to watch the parade from the parking area. Be advised that spectators will not be permitted to watch the parade from the median area of Coastal Highway. Motorists traveling in the area are reminded that traffic pattern changes will occur starting at approximately 9 am and are strictly enforced.

Northside Park and North Division Street locations both feature free concerts and fireworks displays

Ocean City, MD — The Fourth of July will be filled with family fun in Ocean City with two great places to celebrate the holiday, both presenting free concerts and fireworks.

Festivities begin at 8 p.m. with a free concert at Northside Park located at 127th Street and the bay. Rick K and the Allnighters will provide the entertainment. The spectacular fireworks display will be shot from the west side of the park at 9:30 p.m. You’ll hear the oohs and aahs throughout the park as the colorful displays light up the evening sky. Get there early to claim the best location to view the fireworks.

Meanwhile, on the south end of town, you can head to Ocean City’s famous Boardwalk with its bright lights, wonderful food, family fun and more fantastic fireworks. Bring your beach chair or blanket and claim a spot on the beach at North Division Street for a free concert at 8 p.m. with Dr. K’s Motown Review. Fireworks will also fill the sky over the ocean beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Parking is extremely limited at both locations. It is recommended that you take the bus. Bus service is $2 a day and runs 24 hours a day. Coming from west of town, the West Ocean City Park & Ride on Route 50 just west of the Route 50 Bridge offers free parking and $1 shuttle service to downtown.

For more information about July 4th activities, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 410-250-0125 or the Ocean City Department of Tourism at 1-800-626-2326, or visit www.ococean.com or www.oceancitymd.gov.
